Trip to Ancestor's Hometown - Hainan, China (Day 3 - 4)
We headed southwards to the city of Sanya. Reached there in the afternoon. It's 3 hours ride from Qionghai. I reminded myself that it's just travelling from SIN to KL. This means that Hainan is actually very big. The weather surprisingly was sunny.
We stopped by at the first mountain of Hainan - Dongshan Mountain. Nothing much actually. A much bigger scale as compared to Mt Faber perhaps. It was the place where i had the worst experience with local toilets.
We also did abit of sightseeing. Went to the beach and wow, there were so many people. We hung around there for awhile just to enjoy the breeze and relax. A good break from the usual urban city life.
Before heading for dinner, we stopped by at Luhuitou Park to see the view of downtown city of sanya. It looks just like victoria peak in Hong Kong for me. But well, sometimes it's not the view. It's the special moment which is spend with loved ones that matter. Back home, i don't think we will drive to Mt Faber or Kent Ridge as a family to see the views though.
Day 4 (24 Jan)
Spend almost the whole day @ Nanshan today. It faces the chinese south sea, situated 40 miles west of sanya. Didn't know that we were suppose to view temples and the famous 108 metres Nanshan Guanyin statue on south sea.
Naturally, i was the most bored among the group. I voluntered to stay behind to accompany grandma at the food outlet while the rest went to the temple to pray. The weather was actually quite hot too. Very different from Haikou or the village which is much cooler. Hmm, certainly not somewhere that i enjoy nor appreciate.
