Check This Out: The St Regis Singapore

The St. Regis was opened on 22 Dec last year but somehow, i never had the chance to visit till today.

But where exactly is The St. Regis located? I really had no idea. I guessed it must be along the tanglin area since Orchard Road doesn't have any available plot of land to build any more hotels. And i don't notice any new properties at Marina area. And i was right. My colleague Jeff told me that it's along Tanglin Road, just five minutes away from Tanglin Mall & Tanglin Shopping Centre.

I went with my colleagues and we had some drinks at the Astor Bar before the sales & marketing staff brought us around.

It’s a luxury hotel and thus, rooms are really nice and comfortable.Bathroom is spacious and well equipped. Butler is at your beck & call 24 hours a day and brings press pot coffee (complimentary) any time you need it. However, the price-tag doesn’t come cheap. For the price which you are paying for just one night accommodation, you can easily go for a short holiday.

As we went around, the staff told us that The St. Regis Singapore is the 13th St. Regis hotel in the world, the third in Asia after Beijing and Shanghai. It has 299 guest rooms and what’s unique about The St.Regis is that it has three chauffer-driven Bentleys in the unique St. Regis bronze colour. The hotel also aims to be the front-runner in the luxury hotel business, with services such as butlers on every floor. And what’s unique about the ballroom is that it features two large skylights.

St. Regis has several restaurants, one of which is LaBrezza which overlooks the swimming pool. It will be beautiful at night. They have a 3-course set lunch at $40. Not too bad for a corporate luncheon.

With that said, I would recommend the St. Regis to business travelers and not for families with young children.
